Pedaling for Pink Inaugural Bike Ride

Viva Las Chicas announces their inaugural bike ride to raise money to help Tampa Bay families!

Pinellas County, Florida: Viva Las Chicas will launch their inaugural bike ride, “Pedaling for Pink”, on March 17, 2012. A one day ride through Pinellas County, which will include four ride options, will raise money to help Tampa Bay families affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. This bicycling event is designed for families and diehard riders alike, with something for everyone. It is a day to celebrate life with loved ones, friends, and hopefully, new acquaintances!

Formed as a grass-roots organization in 2002, Viva Las Chicas became a non-profit in 2006. As the organization has grown, so has the need to fund the various aspects of the mission, specifically assisting individuals and families after a breast cancer diagnosis. 1 in 8 women nationally and an estimated 13,000 women in Florida receive a breast cancer diagnosis annually. Funds from Pedaling for Pink will remain here in our community as we reach out to our local families who are dealing with breast cancer. Be a part of something special! Viva Las Chicas’ mission is threefold. To provide the tools, knowledge, and resource information needed to ensure early detection, and to provide resource information in the event of a diagnosis of breast cancer.To provide support, encouragement and compassion to individuals who are battling breast cancer and their families. And towork hand-in-hand with organizations such as the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), Suncoast Affiliate of Susan G Komen for the Cure, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, The American Cancer Society and others to raise awareness and funds for research for a cure for this hideous disease. Together we do make a difference!
