| Ricky T's 1st Annual Breast Cancer Benefit -
On Saturday, November 24, 2009 - Ricky T's on Treasure Island held the first Annual Ricky T's Breast Cancer Benefit. We closed down a road, had live music, a raffle, and a fabulous silent auction. The day was a huge success and we raised over $6,000. All proceeds benefiting Viva Las Chicas. A HUGE thank you to Ricky T's management, Chica volunteers and the Treasure Island community who came out to support this needed fundraiser. Dates for 2010 will be published soon.

This large scale cycling extravaganza will have you spinning for fun and charity with DJ Rhinestone. There will be three 1-hour classes, four instructors, and a huge fitness raffle. This event is open to the public, beginners and advanced riders.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a remarkable 60-mile walk designed to raise funds, and awareness for breast cancer. Each 3-Day walker commits to raising $2,300 or more for the cause. The event is 3 days long and like summer camp for adults! This 3-Day has been in Tampa Bay since 2005 and has raised over $20 Million, HOORAY! The Race for the Cure is a 5k run/walk/kids run held the first Saturday in October. With over 11,000 participants think of how much money this event raises. 75% of proceeds stay here in our community.

BMW and Komen for the Cure teamed up to raise money for breast cancer research by driving cars for money. Every mile driven is a dollar raised. With 18 cars that travel the US the miles add up quickly. How fun to drive someone else’s BMW to raise money for research!

This is where Viva Las Chicas does many awareness days. We have a booth at this open-air market, create awareness, pass out pink ribbons and promote our grassroots non-profit. The market is full of local vendors with fresh produce, local artists and non-profits raising money through the community. LOVE this market and it is a great addition to downtown St. Petersburg. Market is open from October to May, Saturday’s 9-2pm.
Need breast health awareness or an educational table at your office, next event? Viva Las Chicas has trained volunteers who teach breast health classes, staff educational booths, teach how to do BSE and overall health discussion.
